Ministry of education will launch Rs 15 million one year's "Skills Training Project" in rural areas of the capital under which six-month training courses will be offered. Sources told Business Recorder, that ministry of education is planning to launch the project for three years but planning commission recommended that one year duration is enough to check success rate and to train adults of rural Islamabad.

Islamabad has 12 union councils where six skills training centres, one centre for two union councils will be launched.

Every person who can read and write will be eligible to get training from this centre. NGOs will provide trainers to train adults in the centres.

The centres will provide training in more than 20 skills including stitching, beauty parlour, painting, glass painting etc.

The project is unique in nature because after the completion of one year if government is not willing to run the project, NGOs or people can buy these centres.

Every person who has the skills can train the adults in centres and ministry of education will provide very attractive salaries to the trainers. Sources told that ministry of education wants to provide skills to adult to actively participate in economic development.
